Flier drops USD 3,100 at IGIA; CISF helps him get back money

A flier who dropped his pouch containing USD 3,100 (over Rs 2.11 lakh) at the exit of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here got back his money as alert CISF personnel helped him.

Officials said the incident was reported early today from the arrival area of the terminal-III when an unattended pouch was found.

They said on-duty CISF personnel detected via CCTV that the pouch, containing 31 USD 100 bills, slipped from the trolley of an incoming passenger from Zurich.

"The CISF personnel traced the flier, identified as I P Singh, while he was leaving the airport and he was handed over the pouch after due verification. The pouch had 3,100 USD notes which is about Rs 2.11 lakh," they said.
