Senior IAS officer Gauri Kumar has been given additional charge of Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Kumar, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, is presently working as Secretary (Border Management) in Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary General, NHRC to Kumar has been approved for a period of three months with immediate effect or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to official statment issued today.
Before joining MHA, Kumar was working in Special Secretary in the Ministry of Mines.
