The general conference of the Young Mizo Association (YMA), the largest social-based organisation among the Mizos, today adopted a resolution to make an appeal to the Mizoram government that the 'Remna Ni' or Peace Day (June 30), the anniversary of signing the historic Mizo Peace Accord, be celebrated in the state every year.
The general conference of the YMA, the largest youth congregation of the Mizos adopted the resolution in view of the fact that important day for the Mizos was celebrated by different political parties with divergent political views.
The delegates also adopted a resolution asking the state government to legislate a stringent local law on drug control.

The general conference which began last night was held in Mizoram-Karinganj district (Assam) border Bairabi town and would be concluded tomorrow.
