A video clip showing a primary school student climbing up the pole to unfurl the tri-colour, which got stuck due to knots, on Independence Day has gone viral in Goa.
The Sarpanch of Colva village, where the incident occurred, said it didn't amount to the insult of the National Flag.
The incident occurred during the function jointly organised by the Colva Panchayat and the Government Primary School.

The video shows the boy dressed in his school uniform swiftly going up the pole, untying the knots, and unfurling the Flag. It further shows the guests, teachers and other students standing around the pole clapped as soon as the tricolour was unfurled.
"We have been hosting the Independence Day function along with the primary school in our village. The tricolour which was up on the pole couldn't unfurl even after pulling the rope, due to which the school student was asked to climb up," Colva Sarpanch Anthony Fernandes told PTI today.
He said the incident didn't amount to insulting the tricolour and that the Panchayat had no role in it.
"I, along with other members of the panchayat, was present there as guests. The function was organised by the primary school," Fernandes said.
