Governor intervenes: Power supply to Raigad fort restored

Power supply to the historic Raigad Fort was restored today after the intervention by Maharashtra State Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao.

The Governor had taken strong exception after electricity to the Raigad fort where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was coronated was was disconnected due to reported non-payment of electricity dues, a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said here today.

After the Governor's intervention, the District Collector instructed the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to restore power supply to Raigad fort immediately and accordingly power supply was restored this afternoon.

The District Collector has been advised to ensure that Raigad fort's electricity dues are paid well in time to avoid recurrence of such embarrassing situations in the future.
