The government is in the process of setting up an inter-ministerial group to look into granting permissions to foreign film makers to shoot in India, I&B Minister Manish Tewari said today.

"We are in the process. I think hopefully, today or tomorrow we would be in a position to notify it. We are setting up an inter-ministerial committee with empowered representatives of state governments to see whether we can create a single-window clearance structure for those foreign film makers who want to come and shoot in India," Tewari said.

He was talking to reporters after presenting Limca Book of Records Awards on completion of 100 years of Indian cinema.

Tewari also said the report on proposed changes to the Cinematographic Act by committee under retired Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal is expected soon.

"We have constituted a committee under the former Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal to try and work out a method on this (changes in Cinematographic Act). We hope to get a report soon and I think we would be able to in addition to that look at some other aspects of the Cinematographic Act," he said.

Tewari also unveiled the 24th 'Cinema Special Edition' edition of Limca Book of Records and presented awards to noted cinema personalities like Shabana Azmi, Jahnu Barua, Prabhu Deva, Mike Pandey, K Viswanath and Santosh Sivan.
