Govt to spend Rs 8.18 cr to preserve 11 heritage sites in MP

Madhya Pradesh government has earmarked Rs 8.18 crore for maintaining and preserving 11 archaeological heritage sites in the state.

"Eleven archaeological sites will be preserved and maintained in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 8.18 crore. Of this, Rs 4.40 crore will be spent on presentation and development works of Hinglajgarh fort in Mandsaur district," an official release issued here said today.

Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Surendra Patwa informed that Rs 99.79 lakh will be spent on Sabalgarh fort in Morena, Rs 87.20 lakh on Vijahraghavgarh in Katni, Rs 49.61 lakh on Ram Bhagat Ki Kothi Ram Nagar in Mandla, Rs 49.07 lakh Gajankheri-based Chamunda Mata Mandir in Ujjain district.
 

Similarly, Rs 46.35 lakh will be spent on Garud Mandir in Narsinghpur district, Rs 38.92 lakh on Moti Mahal Ram Nagar in Mandla, Rs 29.95 lakh on Shiv Mandir Garau in Narsinghpur, Rs 29.47 lakh on Badshah Halwai Mandir in Jabalpur, Rs 21.50 lakh on Rai Praveen Mahal at Orchha in Tikamgarh district and Rs 18.47 lakh on preservation and development of wall of the Orchha fort.
