'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' may feature Klementieff as Mantis

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will reportedly have actress Pom Klementieff playing Mantis.

Mantis was first introduced in "Avengers" #112 in 1973. She was created by Steve Englehart and Don Heck.

Principal photography of the project is set to begin in February 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios, reported Aceshowbiz.

Mantis is the half-Vietnamese, half-German daughter of anti-hero Gustav Brandt aka Libra.

She possesses martial arts skills and psychic abilities.

The film is scheduled for May 5, 2017 release.

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are expected to return for the sequel.

James Gunn is also returning to direct and write the screenplay.
