Haryana Assembly passes 7 Bills in absence of opposition

The Haryana Vidhan Sabha today passed seven Bills including the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2018 paving the way for setting up of IILM University atGurgaon.

As many as 21 private Universities, nine of them in Gurgaon, have already been set up under the Act and after the amendment, IILM University would be the 22nd such varsity, the House was informed.

The Haryana Assemblypassed six more bills in the absence of opposition INLD and Congress MLAs, who were suspended by the Speaker for remainder of the day's proceedings today for creating ruckus in the House.

The Haryana Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Adoption Bill, 2018, would be applicable on clinical establishments having more than 50 beds and for providing quality health care.
 

The Motor Vehicles (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed so that State Transport Undertaking may operate on any route as stage carriage under any permit issued to such undertaking or any vehicle placed at its disposal, the House was informed.

The Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services and Other Services Common/Combined Examination (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed to include the post of Naib Tehsildar in Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services and Other Services Common/Combined Examination Act, 2002.

The Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2018, was passed to rationalize the rate of interest charged under the Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 2016 and to reduce it from one and half per cent per month to one per cent per month that is twelve per cent per annum.

The Haryana Appropriation (No.1) Bill, 2018 was passed to provide for the appropriation out of the Consolidated Fund of the state of the sums required to meet the supplementary grants made by the Legislative Assembly for expenditure for the financial year 2017-18.

The Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas (Amendment) Bill, 2018, was also passed.
