HC grants conditional bail to arrested city corporator
The Orissa High Court today granted conditional bail to Ranjita Biswal, a suspended BJD corporator of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
She was arrested by the Cuttack Commissionerate police in March this year for her alleged links with gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta.
Justice J P Dash allowed her to go on a bail bond of Rs 20,000 each by two sureties.
Biswal, a journalist-turned-corporator, was questioned several times by the police soon after the gangster brothers were arrested in 2016.
She was arrested in March this year by the Cuttack police on charges of supplying illegal weapon.
