Press Trust of India  |  Kochi

The stay was ordered by Justice T R Ramachadnran Nair while admitting a petition by V K Harikumar, Executive Officer of the temple.

According to the petitioner, the movie was aiming to uncover the possible secrets within the temple and the temple treasures with the central theme being the 'Kallaras' (vaults) and the treasurers therein.

Release and exhibition of the film apart from being civil contempt of court, violated the order of the Supreme Court, the petitioner submitted.

Publishing facts regarding various disputed aspects regarding the administration of the temple and vaults are subjudice and pending adjudication by the apex court, he stated.

The 90 minute movie, being described as an authoritative documentary, reveals the secrets held in the vaults of the temple and might affect the shrine's security, it was submitted.

The apex court has called for maximum security and alert regarding the contents of the vaults in its order and releasing the film would pose a security threat, the petitioner said.

The movie's director is Bijoy P I and has been produced by a group of software engineers under the banner of Mega Wave Productions.
