Head-mistress suspended for beating Dalit girl

An eight-year-old Dalit girl was beaten up by a teacher at a government primary school in Jhaberpur village here, following which two teachers, including the school head-mistress, have been suspended.

The incident took place yesterday when the girl was beaten up by her teacher due to which one of her ears was damaged, Basic Education Officer K Kumar said.

Following a complaint by the father of the girl, head-mistress Anita and school teacher Ekta have been suspended, the officer said.
