Hot conditions in UP, Jhansi sizzles at 43.2 deg C

Day temperatures rose in many parts of Uttar Pradesh with Jhansi sweltering under the scorching sun at 43.2 degrees Celsius.

The state capital of Lucknow recorded a maximum of 38.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.

Jhansi was the hottest place in the state at 43.2 degrees Celsius. Allahabad had a high of 42.1 degrees Celsius. Rae Bareli was the coolest place at 15.4 degrees Celsius.

The Met office here said that day temperature appreciably rose in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, rose in Faizabad, Bareilly divisions and changed a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
 

They were appreciably above normal in Allahabad, above normal in Varanasi, Agra, Meerut divisions and were normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
