Human chain protest against sterlite plant in Tuticorin

Members ofthe anti-sterlite movementorganized a human chainprotestdemanding the permanent closure of Sterlite Copper here.

The human chain, extending from Rajajipark to old Harbor, was formed seeking the permanent closure of the copper smelterplant of Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd.

"The protest against the plant is continuing in order to prevent another Bhopal like tragedy in Tuticorin," they said.

Several people participated inthe protest.
