Husband-wife, infant mowed down by truck in Kota

A 22-year-old man, his wife, and three-month-old daughter were killed today after being hit by a speeding truck near the central jail here, police said.

Ramavatar Mehra, a resident of Baundhan village in Bundi district, was riding on a motorcycle with his wife Natibai (20) and their daughter when around 1 PM they were hit by the truck from behind. The trio fell from their two wheeler after which the truck ran over them, Amar Nath, sub inspector of Nayapura police station said.

They were rushed to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead.

The accused driver was taken into custody and a case lodged against him. The bodies of the victims were handed over to the family after post mortem, Nath said.
