Indian girls win 2 gold medals in weightlifting championship

Mohin Chavan and Manalisha Sonowal grabbed a gold medal each in the 17th Asian Youth (Boys & Girls) and 22nd Junior Women Weightlifting Championships in Doha, Qatar, today.

Competing in the 44kg Youth Girls event, Mohin managed a total lift of 131 kg (58+73) to win gold.

Manalisha won the top prize in the 48kg Junior Women category by lifting a total of 154kg (66+88), according to an Indian Weightlifting Federation press release.
