Jack White awarded Honorary Dean title in Mexico

Rocker Jack White has been named the Honorary Dean of a music school in Mexico City.

The former White Stripes star made a surprise appearance at the Fermatta Music Academy last month and spoke candidly about how music touched and inspired him, reported Rolling Stone magazine.

He was given a lifetime achievement award by school officials at the ceremony and now he has become the first musician to be awarded the Honorary Dean title in the history of the Academy.
