A Japanese tourist was today drugged and robbed of Rs 2.42 lakh-worth valuables on a bus from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, police said.
"Yukee Sinzee Mizohu (20) from Tokyo was travelling by a private bus from Mumbai to Ahmedabad," inspector R J Pandav of Karanj police station here said.
A co-traveller, who introduced himself as 'AD' from Jodhpur, befriended him and offered noodles, apparently laced with drugs, before the bus arrived here.
Mizohu passed out after eating. He realised after waking up here that his belongings, including ten thousand yen, an I-pad and an I-phone, were missing and the man has disappeared.
Police took him to government-run V S Hospital and recorded his statement.
