Jharsuguda district collector suspended on HC order

The Odisha government on Wednesday placed Jharsuguda District Collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan under suspension following a direction from the Orissa High Court, an official said.

Jharsuguda's Additional District Magistrate Pradeep Sahu has been given additional charge of the district collector.

The high court directed the state government on Tuesday to suspend Pradhan for cancelling the license of a liquor shop, violating its order.
