Amid pick up in domestic demand and a firm global trend, lead futures traded higher by 1.21 per cent to Rs 120.55 per kg in futures trade today.

Lead for delivery in the current month was trading higher by Rs 1.15 or 1.26 per cent to Rs 120.55 per kg in 556 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July was higher by Rs 1.45, or 1.21 per cent to Rs 121.15 per kg in 336 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to pick up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market and a firm global trend.
