To facilitate hassle-free boarding and alighting of women passengers from Metro trains running on Mundka to Inderlok and Kirti Nagar route, the location of 'ladies coach' would be changed from August 15.
Women commuters boarding Metro trains from Inderlok/Kirti Nagar stations towards Mundka will board the last coach which has been reserved as 'ladies coach' on that route.
Whereas, female passengers travelling from Mundka towards Inderlok/Kirti Nagar will have to take the first coach which will continue to be reserved coach for ladies as earlier.
"This step is being taken to ensure exit and in from the same coach and to avoid inconvenience to women passengers who had to, otherwise face difficulties in de-boarding at interchange stations of Inderlok and Kirti Nagar," a DMRC spokesperson said.
DMRC had implemented the same mechanism on Central Secretariat to Badarpur route from February 16 this year.
The provision of first coach of every train reserved as 'ladies only coach' will remain unchanged on rest of the lines of the Delhi Metro.
