A man was today arrested and 20 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from his possession in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
During frisking, a police team intercepted an oil tanker, which was on its way from Srinagar to Punjab.
During the search of the vehicle, 20 kg of poppy straw, concealed in a plastic bag, was recovered from the possession of Satinder Singh, they said.
Singh, a resident of Jallandhar in Punjab, has been booked under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police said.
