Man held for sexually assaulting minor in Thane

Ajit Kalokhe, a resident of Dombivali township in Thane district, allegedly lured his nine-year-old neighbour yesterday and took her to a secluded place where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

The girl narrated the incident to her parents who lodged a complaint against Ajit.

The accused has been booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC.

This is the second case of rape in a week in Dombivali.

On Tuesday, an autorickshaw driver lured a four-year-old girl with chocolates and allegedly raped her.
