Man robbed of Rs 3 lakh in Faridabad

A man was robbed of Rs 3 lakh by two bike-borne miscreants near Gymkhana Club here, police said today.

Jitendra Kumar Sharma, resident of Devsar village, was robbed of Rs 3 lakh yesterday after he withdrew the amount from a bank in Sector 16, they said.

Two robbers on a bike followed Sharma, who works with a Transport Company, and snatched the bag containing the cash from him before fleeing from the spot, police said.

A case was registered under section 379 (theft) and 356 (assault or criminal force in attempt to commit theft of property carried by a person) of IPC yesterday, SHO Inspector Bharat Bhushan said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
