Maoists behead villager in Jharkhand

Suspected Maoists today beheaded a villager near Ubsal village in the forests of Tamar in Ranchi district, police said.

Suspecting him to be a police informer, the Maoists kidnapped Abraham Tigga yesterday and beheaded him today, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vikash Chandra Srivastav said.

The extremists left a leaflet saying those who would help the police would be treated the same way.

Srivastav said search operation against the Maoists has begun.
