Medium sugar edges up on retail offtake

Medium sugar prices gained in an otherwise steady Vashi wholesale market here today due to increased buying from retail consumers amid upcoming festivals.

While, small variety displayed a steady trend owing to lack of demand coupled with ample supplies.

Medium sugar(M-30) moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 3,210/3,346 per quintal from Tuesday's level of Rs 3,200/3,346.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at 3,076/3,195 per quintal.

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,210/3,346 (Rs 3,200/3,346).
