Medium sugar prices recovered at the Vashi wholesale market here today on emergence of fresh buying by stockists and retailers.
While, small sugar variety continued to trade weak owing to adequate supply.
Medium sugar (M-30) rose by Rs 24 per quintal to Rs 3,242/3,416 from overnight closing level of Rs 3,242/3,392.
Small sugar (S-30), however fell by Rs 10/4 per quintal to Rs 3,112/3,251 as compared to Rs 3,122/3,255 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,242/3,416 (Rs 3,242/3,392).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,112/3,251 (Rs 3,122/3,255).
