Meghalaya Speaker A T Mondal today dismissed a Censure Motion moved against two women ministers for their holding office despite facing a police charge-sheet and criminal investigations.
"After careful examination, I have come to the conclusion that both the cases are pending before courts and the final decision is pending. Therefore, the matter is sub-judice," Mondal said while dismissing the motion moved by opposition members.
"I'll not admit the censure motion. I am satisfied that it will not be appropriate to discuss the subject matter of the Censure motion which is sub-judice and it does not have merit to be admitted," the Speaker added.
The Censure motion was moved by the Leader of Opposition Donkupar Roy and three others against continuation of two ministers - Deborah Marak and Ampareen Lyngdoh -- in office despite charge-sheets and criminal investigations against them.
