Mentha oil prices were up by by 0.34% to Rs 695.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by good demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December gained Rs 2.40, or 0.34%, to Rs 695.60 per kg, with a trading volume of 713 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November edged up by Rs 2.30, or 0.33%, to Rs 682.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 509 lots.
Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot market amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
