MeT dept warns of snowfall, rain in HP

The local MeT office has warned of heavy rains or snowfall at high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh on December 12, even as day temperatures rose by a few notches across the state today.

The MeT office has predicted dry weather until December 10.

More rains and snowfall is expected from December 11 as an active western disturbance was likely to affect the western Himalayan region, it said.

The day temperature rose to 27 degrees Celsius at Unawhile Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Solan recorded maximum temperatures at 25.6, 24.2 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

Palampur recorded a high of 21.9 degrees Celsius, Nahan 21.6, Dharamshala and Shimla 21, Kalpa 14 and Keylong 9.3 degrees Celsius.
 

The minimum temperatures remained close to the normal and Keylong recorded a low of minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Manali with 1.8, Kalpa 2.4, Bhuntar 3.6, Sundernagar 4.6, and Solan, Una, Mandi and Dharamsala with 6.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Palampur recorded minimum temperature at 7.7C and Nahan at 10.4C.
