Mild tremors in parts of Uttarakhand

A mild earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit Uttarakhand today with tremors being felt at a number of places including Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.

Ukhimath area of Rudraprayag district was the epicentre of the quake that hit around 4 PM, Chamoli Disaster Management Officer N K Joshi said.

No loss of life or property was reported, he said

A mild earthquake had also struck Ukhimath area on the night of February 6, Joshi said.
