Minor girl kidnapped by youth on marriage promise

A 14-year-old girl from Maujgarh village in the district was allegedly kidnapped by a youth after luring her with marriage promise, police said today.

A case has been lodged against the youth Palwinder Singh and his mother and sisters, who allegedly helped him in kidnapping the girl, they said.

Singh allegedly abducted the minor girl on December 3 on the pretext of marriage, police said, quoting the complaint filed by the victim's family.

The victim's family has also alleged that the accused stole a gold chain and Rs 70,000 cash from their residence, police said.

A hunt has been launched to find the girl and nab the accused, who are absconding, they added.
