Naik stresses on effective and affordable cure for cancer

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today stressed on finding an effective and affordable cure for cancer.

"Our doctors and specialists should find an effective and affordable cure for cancer through their research work," Naik said after inaugurating seminar "Hope", at the SGPGIMS here.

"About 20 years ago, I was suffering from cancer, but with proper care of doctors I overcame it. I go to functions on cancer for it would boost the morale of patients that it is not an incurable disease," he said.

Stressing that building confidence of the patients and their families is the work of doctors, he said medicines work better on patients having confidence and will power.
 

The Governor said that there are several groups who are providing help in primary detection of cancer through mobile vans and this is a welcome step.
