While stating this today, an official spokesman said that a team of District Child Protection Committee, Kaithal along with the officials of District Health Department has safely handed over the baby girl to Adoption Officer and Programme Officer of Panchkula Child Home.
The baby was taken to hospital by some people after it was found abandoned on December 15, the spokesman said.
Later, the hospital authorities informed the police and District Child Protection Committee in Kaithal about the baby, weighing about 2.8 kg.
Efforts are on to identify her parents, he added.
