No guardian minister for new district Palghar yet

As no guardian minister has been yet appointed for the newly created district of Palghar, district collector Abhijit Bhangar hoisted the tri-colour at the Independence Day function today.

Reportedly, the decision on guardian minister was delayed because while Congress's choice is minister of state Rajendra Gavit, NCP wants cabinet minister Jitendra Awhad to get the post.

Palghar district was carved out of Thane recently.
