Notices issued to Govt, BBMP on garbage clearance

Hearing a PIL, a division bench headed by Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen expressed displeasure over the inaction as well as lame excuses given by the government and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) regarding the mounting garbage.

The court warned that if the situation continued, it may have to order suspension or termination of officials involved.

In his PIL, advocate G R Mohan had prayed that BBMP be superseded as 198 corporators and 28 legislators have failed to address the issue which could jeopardise public health and an administrator be appointed instead to run it.
