Odisha to appoint panchayat development officers in IPA dists.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik sanctioned creation of PDO posts in 3793 gram panchayats spread over 18 districts where Integrated Action Plan (IPA) is implemented.

"The government decided to appoint PDOs in IPA districts to accelerate developmental activities in tribal and remote areas," an official said.

Similarly, Patnaik also sanctioned appointment of technical assistants in 2591 gram panchayats.
