Officers of different Coal India Ltd subsidiaries on Wednesday staged a demonstration in front of the mining major's headquarters here to press for wage-related demands.
The Coal Mines Officers' Association of India (CMOAI), spearheading the agitation, has threatened Coal India of more protests and industrial action if a resolution to the issue is not found soon.
"Coal India management has totally ignored the laid down wage policy of the central government issued from time to time...," the association said in a release.
A conflict has arisen between workmen and executives regarding the scale of pay, it said.
