Over 4,000 persons booked for drunken driving in city

: Police have recommended Regional Transport Officers to cancel the driving licenses of 4,560 persons temporarily, who were nabbed for drunken driving.

With the help of breath analyser, the police have registered 40,835 cases allegedly for drunken driving, a police release said.

This year driving licenses of 965 persons were suspended already while, those 4,560 persons who were nabbed for drunken driving were recommended to respective RTO offices to cancel the licenses temporarily, it said.
