Electricity bills amounting to around Rs 5.5 crore has been deposited in the district in the last 10 days following Haryana Government's move making 'no dues clearance' from the power department compulsory to file nomination for Panchayat polls.
The amount which has been deposited here in the last 10 days is more than what is received in the whole month, a power department official said.
Special 'no dues counter' were being opened at the power department's sub-division level offices with details of defaulters, for the people to deposit their dues and obtain the clearance, the official said.
