Pakistan wants to emulate the best practices in countries like Britain and Malaysia to ensure implementation of its major policies, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said today.
Sharif said his government is keen to establish a Performance Delivery Unit to ensure implementation of its major policies and the initial focus areas would be energy, infrastructure, employment generation and housing.
He said Pakistan wants to emulate the practices in countries like Britain and Malaysia to ensure progress and prosperity of the country.

Sharif said this while meeting Michael Barber, UK Special Envoy, who called on him this morning.
The Prime Minister said that the unit would keep a track record on the development made, and other areas and sectors of the government would also be incorporated later, he said in a statement.
Sharif stressed that Pakistan is committed to education for all and highly appreciates the UK's support for education in Pakistan.
He added that this constructive engagement on education will lay the foundations for a better future for people.
Barber assured to provide maximum possible assistance in the establishment of the Performance Delivery Unit, the statement said.
The UK is one of Pakistan's major bilateral development partners providing assistance in the areas of education, health, poverty reduction and good governance besides humanitarian assistance in times of need, Barber said.
