Pak, UK discuss arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament issues

Pakistan and the UK discussed international arms control and non-proliferation agenda at a bilateral meeting held here on Tuesday, officials said.

"The delegations also discussed issues relating to global and regional security and stability, as well as areas of cooperation and collaboration in multilateral fora," the Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement.

The fourth round of bilateral consultations on 'Arms Control, Non-Proliferation and Disarmament' was held in an open and constructive atmosphere, with the two sides discussing issues on international arms control and non-proliferation agenda, it said.

The two sides agreed to hold the next meeting in London in 2020.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, Director General (Arms Control & Disarmament) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the UK delegation was led by Samantha Job, Director for Defence and International Security.
