Police takes out two-wheeler rally on road safety in Jammu

Minister of State for Home, Nisar Wani, DGP Ashok Prasad, ADGP Rajinder Kumar along with other top police officials participated in the two-wheeler rally to make people aware about the safety measures.

The motor-cycle rally is aimed at informing the youths about the importance of wearing helmets for safety as hundreds of lives were lost in accidents and 90 per cent of which occurred due to human error, Wani told reporters.

"We will also send SMS in this regard to all those driving two-wheelers and if still the norms are flouted, people will be issued challans for not wearing helmets," he said.

 

"The purpose of the two-wheeler rally is to create traffic awareness among the masses especially the youth," IGP Jammu, Dilbagh Singh said adding, several city routes were covered in the rally.
