Political vendetta in National Herald case: Poojary

Press Trust of India Mangaluru
: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Janardhan Poojary today criticised the Central government for acting with 'political vendetta' against Opposition leaders on the National Herald case.

He alleged that the Prime Minister's Office was misusing the Enforcement Directorate in the case to target Congress leaders.

Hitting out at Subramanian Swamy, the petitioner in the case, Poojary said 'he alone was enough to destroy the BJP.'

To a question on rebel candidates from Congress in MLC elections from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, he said the party wanted discipline and anyone violating that was not acceptable.

Three rebel candidates, including Poojary's loyalist in DK district Harikrishna Bantwal had filed nominations as independents for the Legislative Council elections.
