Coming in support of a teacher arrested on the charge of sexually abusing a seven-year old girl student of a school in a village, residents today did not send their children to classes saying he had been implicated in the case with an ulterior motive to damage his reputation.
Residents of nearby Kanjarangal Village first locked the school to protest against the arrest of teacher Rangarajan and lodged a complaint with Superintendent of Police Durai stating that the girl's maternal uncle, an alleged rowdy, could have sexually abused her.
