Rain causes fall in mercury in Rajasthan

Light to moderate rainfall occurred today in in Kota, and Bikaner divisions and most other places, leading to a drop in temperatures.

Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in and Bikaner divisions in the last 24 hours.

According to the department, Arai (district) recorded 10 cm rainfall followed by 7 cm in Hanumangarh, 6 cm in Sangod (Kota district).

From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Chhittorgarh recorded 46 mm rainfall, Phalodi 35 mm and Kota 8.2 mm.

Meanwhile, temperatures dropped down by few degrees due to rainfall at most places.

At 38.8 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer was the hottest recorded place followed by Bikaner at 38.4, Phalodi at 37.5, Barmer at 36.4, Churu at 35.5 and at 35.4, respectively.
