Refined soya oil prices fell by 1.06 per cent to Rs 644 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions after a decline in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January fell by Rs 6.90, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 644 per 10 kg with an open interest of 61,490 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 4.45, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 643.70 per 10 kg in 63,410 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, weighed on refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
