Restaurant-bar ransacked; three injured, attackers absconding

Three persons including a hotel owner were injured when a group of more than half-a-dozen persons allegedly ransacked his restaurant-bar here after the staff refused to serve them beer in the afternoon, police said today.

The incident took place on Monday night when one Jayant Kadam and his men, angry over not being served beer that afternoon came back in the dark hours with stumps and sticks to ransack the the Nisarga Bar, PI J D Patil of Naupada police station told PTI today.

The accused smashed the glass of the hotel and attacked the staff injuring owner Pravin Shetty, a worker Vazahari Kotwal and one Surendra Shetty, police said.
 

Police have charged the mob under sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 323, 452, 504, 506 and 427 of the IPC.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case as searches are on for the absconding accused, police said.
