Rice basmati edges up on scattered demand

In restricted activity, rice basmati prices edged higher by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on mild demand from retailers.

Elsewhere, other grains traded in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said scattered demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing region, mainly led to rise in rice basmati prices.

In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,550-4,650 and Rs 3,750-4,350 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (desi) Rs 2,000-2,600, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 1,685-1,715, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 1,705-1,720, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) Rs 230, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) Rs 230, Roller flour mill Rs 900-905 (50 kg), Maida Rs 945-950 (50 kg) and Sooji Rs 1,090-1,095 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 10,500, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 4,550-4,650, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 3,750-4,350, Permal raw Rs 1,700-1,750, Permal wand Rs 1,850-1,870, Sela Rs 2,250-2,350 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,600-1,615, Bajra Rs 1,300-1,310, Jowar yellow Rs 1,600-1,700, white Rs 3,100-3,200, Maize Rs 1,530-1,580, Barley Rs 1,440-1,450.
