Robbers gang busted, 9 arrested in Kashmir

A gang of robbers was busted with the arrest of nine persons and stolen items worth more than Rs eight lakh were recovered in central Kashmir's Budgam district, police said today.

A police team arrested nine burglars identified as Mansoor Ahmad Wani, Aafaq Ahmad Dar, Aslam Sofi, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Umar Rashid Bhat, all residents of Aboora and Mashooq Rather, Sakleen Mushtaq, residents of Malwa, Mehraj-ud-Din Rather and Muzaffar Khan, both residents of Wussan, a police official said.

He said the arrest led to the recovery of stolen items including motorcycles, tyres, garments and other items worth over Rs 8 lakh.
 

With these arrests and recovery, nine burglary cases registered at Magam and Khag police stations have been solved.
